Prop 8 - The Musical

Prop 8 - The Musical is a hilarious video from the site Funny of Die conceived and written by Marc Shaiman. It stars Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Allison Janney, Margaret Cho, Andy Richter, Neil Patrick Harris, Maya Rudolph, Marc Shaiman and many more...

Jack Black as Jesus is funny in of itself, but the whole thing is great. The comedic song-and-dance diatribe about the California ballot initiative to define marriage as existing only between a man and a woman is also a huge hit. In just one day of online existence, the Funny Or Die video “Prop 8 — The Musical” has received more than 1.2 million hits.

Marc Shaiman is a composer of both film and stage musicals came up with this just after Prop 8 passed back in November, and he learned that the musical director of Sacramento’s California Musical Theater, had donated money to a Yes-on-Prop 8 campaign.

For All the Good, There was also Bad News

It's official. Nearly 20,000 marriages of gay couples in California were repealed last night. I guess we are not as far a long as I had hoped.

Where was the leadership though. No offense to Ellen, why did she not fight this harder? Where was the coordinated fight? Well Day 1 starts now, and a real effort has to be made to change it back. Bankrupt the damn Mormons if you have to, and tell them to stay the Fuck out of California politics.
